Ghoul's Best Friend

Today we end the week with a 3D challenge.  A 3D Cardz TV challenge to be exact.  Our challenge for this week is to create a project that has a pumpkin.

For my project I created this wonderful jack-o-lantern from the Haunted Forest kit from SVG Cuts.  This is a fun project to put together and I love how you can decorate not only the hat but the pumpkin depending on your style.

I used a variety of papers from a couple of different mat stacks, added some boa fur around my hat, skittles on the eyes, and then pop dotted up the sentiment in the center of my flower.  My sentiment is from the Trick or Treat Stamp set.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other fun designs our team has created for you.  Then after you've been inspired, create your own project, link up and play along with us.

I can't wait to see what you create.

And now I'm off to enter my pumpkin into the following challenge:

Die Cuttin Divas - Happy Halloween - Ends November 1st

Mini Nativity

Happy Thursday everyone.  I have one last plastic canvas project to share with you this week.

This one comes from the Hear Me Sing leaflet by Kappie Originals in 1989.  I used to make a lot of these nativities back in the day.  Only back then I used to have little music button boxes that I would insert into them.

I've seen these used as a small decorative piece on a shelf or used as an ornament.  Either way they make up quickly and I love the end result.

Santa Pants

It's the middle of the week and thank goodness.  I don't know about you but I've already had a whole lot of week packed in to only two days.  I love what I do for a living and thank goodness because it's about enough to make a crazy person go nuts.  So it's a good thing that I have a couple of hobbies I enjoy that help alleviate my stress in the evenings.  :)

So today I bring you Santa's Pants.  This was a fun plastic canvas project that I boughtform from Mary Maxim.  These will work great for using as treat holders or a way to give someone a gift card. So if you enjoy doing plastic canvas or never have before but have been thinking about giving it a whirl I'd recommend this pattern.

Baked with Love Gift Tags

So today I bring you a quick and easy project, courtesy of the wonderful print 'n cut feature. These cuties are yet another great collection of gingers from Marjorie Ann Designs. Together along with a couple of other cuties they are called the Baking Fun Gingers.

I started with a couple of shipping tags that I embossed using one of my snowflake folders. I then used my Broken China Distressed Ink and a pad to apply a smooth coat of ink to tags. After that I adhered my different gingers and added a sentiment from the Baked with Love stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.

And now I have a head start on my tags for when I begin my holiday baking.

Santa Gift Jars

So this week I thought we'd do something a little bit different.  I thought I'd "showcase" another craft that I enjoy doing but don't really show and tell as much as I do with my papercrafting.  Some of you may have heard about it and some of you may even enjoy playing with it yourselves.  It's called plastic canvas and I've been doing this stuff off and on since I was about 20.

It's not as 'popular' a craft nowadays but it is still around.  However, the vast majority of projects I create are from patterns that were published in the 80's and 90's when the craft was at its height of popularity.

This particular project is one that I used to make a lot of back in the day.  It was always a popular seller and I enjoy making them.  The only drawback is that this is made with the smaller 10 mesh canvas and that means it's more intricate and daunting for my poor eyesight.  Somehow I muddle through and get them done though.

This pattern is from the Leisure Arts #1541 (book three) titled Deck The Halls in Plastic Canvas published in 1994.

Jolly Holidays

I have another quick and fun card to share with you today using the Christmas Sweeties file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  See, I told you I couldn't resist these cute little gingers.  And just think, Marjorie just released some new ones recently too.  LOL

For my ornament I used a scrap from my DCWV Holiday Glitzy Glitter mat stack.  I won this stack a while back during a blog candy giveaway.  I was very excited about that but I get even more excited every time I use a piece of it.  I've not seen this stack in any of my local stores so this was quite the big deal for me.

My sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps stamp set titled Very Merry.

Basket of Ornaments

Today I have a Christmas card I'd like to share with you.  I know.  I know.  It's not even Halloween yet.  But in my defense I've been creating for both holidays simultaneously.

Remember the altered charger plate I shared with you on Monday?  Well this is another cutie from the Christmas Sweeties file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  I decided to add a little bit of texture and bling to this card.

Along the top of the Santa dressed basket I used my Snow Writer 'paint'.  I first discovered this stuff at Michael's a couple years ago and I love how easy it is to use.  Some times I'll even add a touch of glitter or diamond dust while it's still wet.

Then as you can see, on the blue ornament I added a bit of bling in the form of a gemstone sticker.

Finally, instead of stamping a sentiment on the outside of my card I decided to go with a background paper that had it all.  Plus I thought it added to the cuteness of the ginger girl. The paper is from the Winter Wonderland mat stack by The Paper Studio.

Halloween Tealights

Today I have a fun, non-card related project for you.   I had some extra tea lights hanging around from another project I did and instead of letting these guys sit around I decided to decorate them up for Halloween.  Of course it didn't hurt any that I saw these newly released patterns by Jamie Cripps in the Silhouette store.

As you have probably already guessed one is the Mummy Tealight Holder (#99672) and the other is the Pumpkin Tealight Holder (#99684).  Both were very easy to piece together.  However, I did have one issue and that was that there was not a cut out for the bottom cover so that you could turn the tealight on and off.  In the grand scheme of things this was not a deal breaker as it was easily remedied.

If you have a Silhouette machine there are several other designs for various holidays available.  I'm sure I'll be making some of them myself.  In the meantime, I'm off to enter these into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas - Picture Inspiration - Ends October 25th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Hiding in My Craft Room - Favorite Cutting Tool - Ends October 24th

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 23rd

Ginger Wreath Plate

Marjorie Ann Designs recently released this adorably cute Christmas Sweeties file and immediately I was drooling.  I don't know what it is about these gingerbread characters but every time I see them the just scream "make me, make me!"  So who was I to argue when I saw this file?

For my first project I took a brief break from my usual card making and decided to alter a charger plate using this cute as can be gingerbread in the wreath.

I enlarged the file so that the wreath would cut at 8 inches round as that is the size that fill up the center of the plate perfectly.  I then pieced everything together, used a couple of Stream colored skittles as my buttons and viola I have a fun piece of Christmas decor.

And the best part is that it was as easy as can be to put together.

Scary Tree

I had a little time to play in my craft room this weekend in between all the cleaning and organizing so I decided to pull out my Silhouette Cameo and play around with a couple of Halloween files I purchased earlier this month.  Today I'm going to share with you the card I made using the Scary Halloween Tree file (Design ID #95200) by Miss Kate Cuttables.

It was a fun tree to put together but as I sit here and look at the picture I took I notice that some of cuts did not cut quite as clean as I thought.  Don't you just hate it when that happens?

I decided to use a couple of yellow skittles in my night time sky and the stamp face on the tombstone is from the Peachy Keen stamp set titled Trio of Girl Ghosts.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Double Click Connections - Spooky Fun Challenge - Ends October 27th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Hiding in My Craft Room - Favorite Cutting Tool - Ends October 24th

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 23rd

No Tricks

Welcome back to another round of Cardz TV challenges.  This week our 3D designers were challenged with creating a Halloween treat holder, and they came up with some really fun ones.

For my treat holder I chose to use this great witch gable box from Silhouette.  This one is Design ID #66750.

My stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps stamp set titled Frankly Frightful.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check the other wonderful designs our team created for you this week.  Then after you've been amply inspired, create your own Halloween treat holder, link up, and play along with us.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Seasons Greetings

So I woke up this morning and my first thought was "it's only Wednesday?"  The past couple of weeks have been absolute whirlwinds as I prepare for three different Annual Membership and three different budget approval meetings.   You see by day I am a Community Association Manager and while I absolutely love my work, it is exhausting.  And that's one reason why I love my crafting, exercising and obstacle course racing so much.  It allows me to unwind and just chill out.

So today I thought I'd share a card I made for my favorite holiday - Christmas.  Christmas has always been magical for me.  I love celebrating the birth of Christ, being with family and friends, giving gifts, creating all the fun craft projects, and decorating.

For today's card I used one of the penguins from the Holiday Penguins file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  On the large ornament I used a snowflake rhinestone sticker I had in my stash.  I love the added bling it brings to the card.

For my sentiment I used a variety of stamps.  On the outside of my card I used Simply Christmas from Craftin Desert Divas.

On the inside of my card I used the stars from the Christ is Born stamp set from Jaded Blossom.  The sentiment itself is from the Merry & Bright stamp set from My Craft Spot.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Super Scraps Saturday -  Ends October 17th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Autumn Greetings

Can you believe it's the beginning of another week?  I don't know about you but my weekends seem to just fly by anymore.  And how about the fact that we are just 10 weeks (and a couple days) away from Christmas and 6 weeks from Thanksgiving?

Speaking of Thanksgiving I have a fun card that I'd like to share with you today.  I created my card using this hoot-iful turkey from the Thanksgiving Hoots file from Marjorie Ann Designs.

My sentiment is from the Hey Pumpkin stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Super Scraps Saturday -  Ends October 17th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Cha Cha Cha

Today I have a fun Poopeez card to share with you.  This guy is called cha cha cha.  Just look at his smile that screams fun and his maracas inviting you in for a fun dance.  Now how could you not love this guy?

My stamped sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's stamp set titled Mexican Food.  Come on now, how perfect is that?  LOL

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 9th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Hoo - Vamp

I have another fun, quick and easy card to share today.

For today's card I used another one of the owls from the Halloween Hoots set.  This time I chose the vampire owl.  These owls are all so cute and if you need a card in a hurry this is a great set to use.  Everyone of these guys piece together very easily.

Instead of having a stamped sentiment on the outside of the card I chose to stamp a spider web it the corner.  For this I used one of the stamps from the recently released Halloween Panels stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

Boo Mummy

Today I have a quick and easy but oh so cute Halloween card to share with you.

For my card today I used one of the owls from the Halloween Hoots set by Marjorie Ann Designs.  This little cutie was so easy to piece together I couldn't believe it.  And I just love the way he turned out.

My stamped sentiment is from the Peachy Keen stamp set titled Trio of Girl Ghosts.  (Unfortunately it's no longer available for purchase.)

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 9th

Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes - Ends October 5th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Doodles

Thank goodness it's Saturday because that means I get to have a little bit of crafting catch up time.  Of course the very first card I made this morning had to use some of the new Poopeez files that were released from SVG Cutting Files yesterday.  I have been waiting for some new ones for quite a while and I have to say this release really got me excited.

Today's card was made using the Doodles and the GhostPoo files.  When I first saw the Doodles on SVG Cutting File's blog I cracked up.  Of course he was painting a pile of crap but I decided to change that out for the GhostPoo so that I could turn my card into more of a Fall/Halloween theme.

My background was created using paper from my DCWV Midnight Spell mat stack.

I also decided to try something a bit different and used the ghost panel stamp from the recently released Jaded Blossom stamp set Halloween Panels.  Only instead of stamping in color I chose to stamp with my Distressed Embossing Ink and then used a transparent power.  This gives my ghosts that touch of now you see me - now you don't peek-a-boo feel.  I don't know, I just thought it would be kinda cool to have them hiding in the trees.

Close up of the ghosts

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 9th

SVG Cutting Files - Anything Fall - Ends October 14th

Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes - Ends October 5th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Autumn Decor

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back to another Cardz TV 3D challenge.  This week we are making a home décor project for Fall.

For my project this week I chose to make a basket in which to display my cinnamon scented pine cones.  While these things might be a pain having to pick up out of the yard they sure are pretty and nice once they get cleaned up and smell good. The basket is from the SVG Cuts file titled Caramel Apple Pie SVG Kit.

My sentiment of choice is from the Cardz TV Stamps set title Just Saying.  I keep finding myself drawn to this particular sentiment.

I also used a couple of buttons and skittles in purple twilight for the center of my flowers.

And now that you have seen my project for this week please be sure to check out all of the wonderful creations our design team have created for you today.  Then be sure to create your own home décor project, link up and play along with us.

I can't wait to see what you create.
